A DAY IN THE LIFE SESSION, WHAT IS that?

Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”
– Dorothea Lange

We see too many photos. We are constantly bombarded with images that, on the one hand, desensitise us and, on the other, make the photos lose their authenticity.

After taking photos of our family and surroundings with our mobile phones every day, these images may not have much impact on us, they have lost their importance, diluted in the visual avalanche. Having only the photographs on the mobile or on the computer makes us interact with them in a different way. Scrolling on the mobile is not the same as sitting on the sofa with the children turning the pages of an album.

Photos on paper are enjoyed in a different way, like when we can pick up a book to read and turn the pages while we enjoy reading. It is a totally different experience. In addition, to prepare an album, a previous selection of images has to be made, which reduces the photos to the most beautiful ones, the ones that reach us, the ones we connect with. The cloud holds so many Gigas that we don’t need to make a selection, but in the case of images, ‘less is more’.

Every photograph of our personal life connects us with that moment we lived, no matter how much time passes, we go back to that moment when the photograph was taken.

What if you had a day of your life in photographs, what if it is important to you that your daily life and its details remain forever in an album? For me, the now is important, and I want to give it the importance it deserves. That’s why I visit each family for a whole day, with my camera I accompany them in their routines.

It’s important all the members of the family are in the photos. It seems unimportant, but as the person who takes the photos in my house, I know what that means (I am in almost no photos!).
By having a photographer in the house, everyone feels that their life is important (but of course it is) and their routines and little snuggles are worth immortalising. For the little children it is a total joy. The first hour they want to show me their toys, they pose for me, but after that I stop being a novelty and I can capture their games without posing them, it’s simply magic to be able to capture them in such a natural way. This is impossible in a short photo session.

The fact that they are at home makes all members of the family feel comfortable and relaxed, it shows in the photos. I will be photographing from breakfast until the children fall into bed, imagine everything that goes into an exhausting and wonderful day of parenting. During the ‘A day in the life’ session, we can also go for a walk together, to the park, wherever you want. This way you will enjoy the experience even more and have a real ‘Quality time’.

The result of the session is a photo gallery with your funniest and most tender moments, and after selecting together the photos that you like the most, you will have an album where you can reconnect with the moment.

Will you let me tell the story of your “Day in the Life”? I am really looking forward to meet you.

Your family is worth it!
